September 3, 2016

It’s always a great time when you get to photograph a friend’s wedding! Ashley and Mike tied the knot this summer at Bridges golf course. They first met through a mutual friend at the Muddy Waters lower patio. Their family and friends put together a really great video for the reception and I recall Mike’s first thought when see Ashley was “What’s this, what’s this?!” They knew it was meant to be when they started to miss each other when Mike would go out of town each week. They like to rollerblade together and do anything active outside together. Mike and Ashley started their wedding with first look photos on a cobblestone road. Mike couldn’t get over how amazing Ashley looked, while Ashley had a giant smile on her face the whole time. We went around town snappin’ photos of the soon-to-be couple and all of their (huge) wedding party. The ceremony was at Bridges Golf Course outside in front of the lush greens. The sky was full of moody clouds getting ready for a storm. Ashley remembers Mike saying “I promise to love you” during their vows to one another and Mike recalls Ashley saying “Michael you are my best friend”. The reception followed inside at Bridges with a beautiful rustic feel to the venue, and of course full of purple. Dinner was delicious, speeches were amazing and the shoe game was hilarious. After all the events of the reception were finished we knew we wouldn’t be catching a sunset because the storm had finally rolled in. Mike and Ashley decided they would trust me and ran out in the storm (which was only a light sprinkle at the time). We got some amazing timed shots on the golf green and was the perfect way to wrap up the reception before the dancing and booze got the party going!
